D Backs v. Angels
Jake here...So, I went to my 5th baseball game of the season with Mommy and G-daddy. I thought I was on a roll there, since my team had won every time I have gone to a game (one time was the Cubbies game, so...). But no such luck this time. Thought they were going to make a come back after a HEINOUS 5th inning, but no such luck. Oh, better luck next time guys!

Library visit and peas!
We had a library open just down the street from us a couple weekends ago, so Derek and I decided to roll over there with Jacob to check it out. It has a fun little kid section where the kids can play, read, etc. Jacob had fun with all the interactive toys. We also tried peas this afternoon. Not a huge hit like squash or sweet potatoes, but not a disaster like bananas! He is feeling a zillion times better now and is off his breathing treatments entirely. Had his 6 month check up on Friday and they said he was doing great. 27 inches, 16 pds 5 oz (he had lost a little when he was sick). His weight dipped down on the growth chart curve, which concerned me, but I was reassured that the PA would place money on a 6 mo exclusively breastfed baby dipping down on their curve a bit. That and him being sick, put my mind at ease on the weight front.

Six months old!
I have been really bad at getting the blog updated. Nothing huge has happened per se. Jake has been mastering sitting up and sits up all by himself for a really long time. He is slowly getting over a virus that really messed with him. He is on a nebulizer treatment 4 times a day, but it is slowly getting better. His new thing is rolling over when he is sleeping. That has been causing me a significant decrease in my already depleted sleep. But he sleeps like a champ like that. Other than that, just life, getting bigger, and being a great little guy. Here are some pics from the last few weeks and a video or two. Oh, and happy father's day! Derek and Jake sported matching UA gear!

Bananas, baseball, swimming and more...
It's been awhile since I posted anything so here are several things...Swimming on Memorial Day, D-backs game vs Braves (we won...), and trying bananas for the first time...He seems to take after his mommy on the disdain for bananas! Especially funny since I craved them when I was pregnant! OH!!! And he got a ball at the D-backs game (aka Stephen Drew bobble head day) from Braves Bullpen Coach, Eddie Perez. I didn't have a pen for an autograph from anyone, and it was the Braves, but WAY COOL! I need to get a case for it to put in his room.

Rough week, good ending...

This last week was really rough. Our first baby, Lily, was in the Emergency Clinic for most of the week for her getting into some drugs we had for Scooby's hips and getting really sick from it. Long story short, her kidneys started to not work all that well, so she was on round the clock fluids for a few days and away from us at the EAC. But, it looks like things were looking up. Derek told me that we needed to keep her there overnight Thursday night too. But then when we got there to visit after work, he surprised me with an early Mother's Day present of bringing her home. I was so happy! We don't know if there is any permanent damage to her kidneys just yet. We are probably going to do this special test down in Gilbert in a couple weeks to see what we are looking at, but in the mean time she is going to be on some special kidney diet food and under our close eye. It was so nice to have her home with us. Scooby was SO happy too.
